Raku

A lifetime resident of Ouray, Bill began working with clay in the studio of Steve & Ruth Briggs at the age of 12. He continued working in clay in high school and won "Outstanding Potter" his senior year. Bill went to work with Briggs Pottery after high school, where he learned to love life in a studio and the discipline of making functional pottery. From there he began working with internationally recognized potter, Betty Woodman. There he started to see pottery for its art qualities. Now enjoying the mix of form and function at his own studio, Bill finds inspiration from his love of the mountains and his experience in the outdoors.
